Once you clear Customs & Immigration, you will be met by your driver, who will be waiting outside the arrival terminal building. You will be escorted to your waiting vehicle and driven to Arusha, arriving at Katambuga House for check-in. The drive usually takes about 1.5 hours, depending on traffic en route.
After checking in at Katambuga House, you can unwind by the pool before enjoying dinner and spending the night.
After breakfast, it’s a short drive to Arusha Airport to connect with a scheduled flight to the Serengeti, landing at Seronera Airstrip. Upon arrival, you’ll meet your guides and head to Olmara Camp, enjoying a game drive en route and arriving in time for lunch.
In the afternoon, you’ll start your “Serengeti adventure” with an afternoon safari walk, escorted by a guide and an armed ranger, ending at your fly camping site.
The fly camping experience places guests in complete wilderness with a simple camp setup, allowing you to be fully immersed in the sounds of the African savannah at night and marvel at the vast African skies. At night, gather around a campfire to enjoy a meal and share stories of your African adventures.
While this back-to-basics camp is simple, it doesn’t compromise comfort. A few luxuries are provided with soft duvets and down pillows. Dining is generous and wholesome, served with a cold beer or a glass of wine. This fly camping experience will take you deep into the wilderness, where most activities are conducted on foot, allowing you to experience the bush on an intimate level rather than from a distance.
After an early morning wake-up call and breakfast, bid farewell to Olmara Camp and set out on a game drive, exploring the richness of the Serengeti’s southern plains and its majestic wildlife. Arrive at Esirai Camp in time for lunch, and a short rest.
The final three nights will be spent at Esirai Camp, roaming the Serengeti. Based on wildlife movements, our guides will plan daily activities, combining game drives and walking safaris to best experience the area.
On the last day of your safari, enjoy a game drive en route to Seronera Airstrip, making the most of your remaining time in the park. From there, fly from the Serengeti to Arusha Airport.
A transfer vehicle will be waiting at Arusha Airport to take you to Katambuga House for lunch. Afterward, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport to connect with your departure flight.
From sleeping under a star-studded sky in a tree nest or a remote fly camp to floating in a hot air balloon over the vast migrating herds and even possibly coming eye to eye with a Lion, you will return home with stories and memories that will last a lifetime.
